Electric Vehicle Innovation Ontario (EVIO) is a University of Toronto-led network<\/strong> that trains world-class R&D talent to develop game-changing EV and automotive mobility technologies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Our Mission<\/h2>\n

Ontario is in a global race to become a leader in the EV and automotive mobility space. Significant investments have been made in attracting multi-national EV firms, building charging infrastructure, and shoring up critical-mineral mining. The long-term success of the sector is predicated on the rapid development and commercialization of world-leading innovative EV technologies.<\/p>\n

EVIO exists to kick-start advanced EV technology development<\/strong> using state-of-the-art methodologies. Through March 2028, EVIO will support projects led by post-graduate trainees (graduate students and post-doctoral fellows), each in partnership with a company. By placing post-graduate trainees into industry-led R&D projects, EVIO aims to grow firm capacity, generate IP, and build a pipeline of highly qualified personnel (HQP) to support the long-term success of Ontario\u2019s EV sector.<\/p>\n
